Bells of Nepal

Bilingual site for Nepal's first Positive Psychology organisation, with a nine-page CMS behind it.

The problem

A new organisation introducing a field most Nepali readers have never encountered by name. It needed to explain Positive Psychology and Positive Education carefully, in two languages, and keep publishing as the programme grew — without a developer in the loop for every edit.

What we did

Bells of Nepal is the country's first organisation dedicated to Positive Psychology and human flourishing. Because the subject is unfamiliar, the site is built around explanation rather than persuasion: nine pages that take the reader from what the field is, through what the organisation is building, to how to take part. Every page is authored in both English and Nepali as paired fields in Payload CMS, so a translation can never silently fall behind its English counterpart. The site also degrades gracefully — with no database reachable it falls back to the content compiled into the code rather than showing an error, which is what keeps a launch from depending on a migration finishing first.

What we built

  • Nine content pages, all editable in Payload CMS with paired English/Nepali fields
  • Complete bilingual front end with locale-prefixed routes
  • Falls back to compiled-in content when the database is unreachable
  • Cookie-free by design — nothing to consent to beyond a theme preference
  • Cloudflare in front, with a .org.np certificate and origin lock

Beyond the website

A full content management system the organisation's own team writes in, in both languages, from day one.
